"La Montagna sul Garda" is a network that brings together refuge managers and other tourism operators in the territory around Lago di Garda. It is a concrete project born to offer an alternative to mass tourism: it promotes a mountain to be experienced at a human pace, respecting nature and traditions. Rifugio Stivo proudly supports this network, sharing its values of environmental protection, authentic hospitality, and promotion of local products.
The Garda Altitude Diary
From this network of operators, the "Diario di quota del Garda" (Garda Altitude Diary) circuit was born, of which we are part. It is a real hiker's passport, created to invite you to explore the paths, the mountain dairy huts (malghe), and the refuges of the mountains that are reflected in the lake. An initiative designed to unite those who live and work at high altitudes, offering you ever-new and authentic destinations.
13 stamps to collect
Always carry the Altitude Diary with you in your backpack! The circuit includes 13 stages in as many participating structures: at each goal reached, you can have a personalized stamp of the structure placed on your passport. It is a special way to track your steps and collect smiles and efforts.
When you arrive here, remember to ask for the official Rifugio Stivo stamp! To obtain it, we propose a small ecological action: take a bag of light waste down to the valley. In this way, you will concretely help the mountain and reduce the load of flights necessary to resupply the refuge.
