When the snow arrives, Monte Stivo changes its face. There are no ski lifts or crowded slopes: here you will find only the real mountain and plenty of silence. It is the perfect terrain for those who love to climb at their own pace, far from the confusion. We recommend bringing appropriate equipment and never underestimating the snowy environment. Depending on how you prefer to move, there are two ways to enjoy the winter up here:

With boots or crampons/micro-spikes: once the trail has been packed down by other hikers before you (which happens quite frequently), you don't need special equipment to reach us.
With ski mountaineering: the mountain's wide slopes are ideal for climbing using skins. Gain altitude in an ever-open environment, reach the summit, and enjoy a completely natural descent, far from the classic circuits.

Whatever your way of climbing, the goal is always the same: our refuge door. Come in, find the stove lit, and get comfortable with something warm to drink and a good dish to regain your energy before heading back down to the valley.
