MTB itineraries on Stivo: from the woods to the panoramic ridges

On Stivo, you will find natural trails and dirt roads that cross through woods and meadows, with views that often open up over the lake and the valley. There are no man-made bike parks, but real paths that allow you to explore the mountain authentically. Some of these sections are officially closed to bicycles; therefore, riding them is at your own discretion and responsibility.

The routes are perfectly suitable for both traditional mountain bikes and e-bikes. ALWAYS remember to give way to hikers and to be respectful and friendly to other excursionists. Also, keep in mind that some tracks cross private land where owners do not always look kindly on bikes passing through: for this reason, it is fundamental to behave with the utmost respect and politeness (if we feel forced to specify this, it is because, unfortunately, it doesn't always happen).

Here are the tours we recommend:

Ascent from Malga Campo: a classic and very rideable tour (the last section only for e-bikers or extremely strong cyclists) that reaches the refuge following path 623 and then path 617. The descent is not particularly technical but is very satisfying.
Ascent from Passo Santa Barbara: this is the most direct way to aim high towards our refuge. A constant climb on dirt roads that gains altitude decisively and rewards you with a spectacular arrival. The last stretch, about 250m of elevation gain, is not rideable and requires a good dose of patience to reach the top.
Descents towards the Sarca Valley: if you love downhill, once at high altitude, you can connect to the trails that point down towards Arco and Drena. A nice mix of old mule tracks and passages through the woods that take you straight back to the valley floor.

When you decide to climb up here to the refuge, we are ready to welcome you: the perfect place to take a break, have a cold drink, and recharge before diving back into the descent.
